REQUIREMENTS:
Dimensions and configuration: See figure 1.
H. I. shock: Disengagement of the test plug from the receptacle under H. I. shock shall not be
considered as a failure.
Receptacle: In accordance with W-C-596, part number W-C-596/11-1.
The ground contact shall be nickel-plated.
Switch: Type DPST toggle in accordance with MS24524-24.
Mating plug: W-C-596, part number W-C-596/13-3 (not furnished).
Enclosure: Shall be of steel or aluminum protected against corrosion.
The box shall have a minimum of three .875 inch diameter cable entrance knockouts
(one hole per side), which shall withstand a 30-pound force (external) to a .250 inch
diameter area at the opposite end of the knockout hinge. Failure to resist this force shall
be cause for rejection. Three plug buttons shall be furnished with the enclosure.
Commercially available box and cover (steel or aluminum protected against corrosion)
adapted for the purpose may be substituted for the specified box and cover.
Electrical rating: Receptacle 15-ampere, 125-volt, alternating current, 60-hertz (Hz).
Switch 3-ampere, 125-volt, ac, 60-Hz.
Toggle switch boot: Not required.
