Insertion and withdraw forces shall be as follows.
Insertion force -
6 pounds (maximum).
Withdraw force -
3 pounds (minimum).

Spring life test is applicable. Test plug TP291, in accordance with MIL-DTL-641, shall be used.
Voltage breakdown shall not occur between the springs when the mating plug is inserted. Evidence of
failure shall be checked using 500 volts ac.
The Part or Identifying Number (PIN) consists of the letter M, the basic specification number, the
specification sheet number, and a number for jack type. (see table I)
