The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this federal specification sheet by all federal agencies.
The complete requirements for procuring the connectors described herein shall consist of this document and the latest issue of W-C-596/GEN.
NOTES:
1. For mounting dimensions see W-C-
596/GEN, configuration B (duplex receptacles with break-off ears).
2. Dimensions are in inches.
3. Metric equivalents are given for general information only.
4. Orientation of receptacle faces and location of test and/or reset buttons optional.
5. The GFCI shall be furnished with a wallplate of the appropriate color.
6. If an indicator light is provided, when lighted it shall indicate power availability to the receptacle; when unlighted it shall show the "tripped" condition of the
circuit interrupter.
7. If wire leads are provided in lieu of other termination means, the green (ground) leads shall be a minimum of 6 inches long and the remaining leads shall be a minimum of 4 inches long. Each wire shall be capable of withstanding pull of
20 pounds for one minute.
