Contact insertion and withdrawal force (Series LT only).
After insertion and removal of a pin 0.200 inch minimum in diameter to a depth of 0.187 inch,
minimum. All contact members shall make contact, within 0.031 inch of their tip ends, with a pin
0.176 inch diameter inserted to a depth of 0.187 inch minimum. The contact shall then be tested as
follows:
1. A pin 0.168 inch minimum in diameter inserted to a depth of 0.187 inch minimum
shall not deflect the contact members.
2. When a pin 0.196 inch minimum in diameter is inserted to a depth of 0.187 inch
minimum, all contact members shall make contact with the pin 0.031 inch maximum
from their tip ends. The contact shall then pass through a cylindrical hole 0.230 inch
maximum in diameter and 0.500 inch long when a pressure of not more than 2 pounds
is applied.
Dielectric withstanding voltage: Method 301 of MIL-STD-202, 10,000 V rms minimum at sea level.
Corrosion: Applicable.
Vibration: Applicable.
Shock: Applicable.
