REQUIREMENTS
Dimensions and configurations: See figure 1and 2.
Application: Contacts are used with mounted connectors having fixed actuating hardware, connectors
MIL-C-28731/3 and MIL-C-28731/4 and MIL-C-28731/9 through MIL-C-28731/18. Contacts are not
recommended for use on automatic wire wrap application.
Wire size: For .025 square wrappost, wire sizes 24, 26, 28 and 30 are recommended for wrappost
geometry (see MIL-DTL-28731).
Current rating: 3 amperes, 24 AWG wire.
Contact separation forces: See figure 2.
Polished steel gauge from unplated contacts: 2 to 10 ounces.
Plated gold over nickel contacts: 2 to 16 ounces.
Contact mating area: Contacts may be supplied with either overall plating or localized finish.
For localized finish contacts the contact mating area shall be in accordance with detail B and
MIL-DTL-28731 and the tail area (dimension B on figure 1) shall be in accordance with
MIL-DTL-28731.
