6.6 Guidance on use of alternative parts with less hazardous or nonhazardous materials. This
specification provides for a number of alternative plating materials via the PIN. Users should select the
PIN with the least hazardous material that meets the form, fit and function requirements of their
application.

6.8 International standardization agreements implementation. This specification implements
NATO STANAG 3632, and ISO 46. When amendment, revision or cancellation of this specification is
proposed, the preparing activity must coordinate the action with the U.S National Point of Contact for the
international standardization agreement, as identified in the ASSIST database at: https://assist.dla.mil.
6.9 Changes from previous issue. The margins of this specification are marked with vertical lines to
indicate where changes from the previous issue were made. This was done as a convenience only and
